Build Plate Cleaning PSA

10 minutes ago I swore by 70% IPA for build plate cleaning. Not anymore. I had an opportunity to test plate glue clean-up (I use Layerneer) on a surface that really showed the glue, and found that IPA did not work nearly as well as clean water (I used deionized, but that is probably overkill, I just had it laying around). I always thought 70% IPA was enough water to take care of the water soluble contaminants, but I was wrong. You still need IPA to clean non-water soluble like filament lubricant (depending on the brand and type of filament)

So my new build plate cleaning routine is first pass with IPA and second pass with water. Then pre-heat the plate to evaporate the water and allow the heat to even out.
