My daughter had an Ender 3 v3 SE for Christmas. Followed all the setup as manual, but from the very first print, it prints a couple of layers, then stops passing filament and prints air. I’ve had to disassemble 6 times, remove the blockage, then put back together again but get the same result. Each time the small tube in the extruder has hard filament set in it blocking the supply to the nozzle. I’ve adjusted temp settings and tried again with same result. Can anyone advise on what I’m doing wrong, or if anyone has had the same problems straight out of the box as I’m worried it’s a faulty unit
Clogged nozzle? Try upping the print temperature by 10° but keep the bed at 55°C, I am guessing you are printing PLA as you didn’t say.
Thanks for responding! Yes, printing pla. I’ve tried alternative temps, gone up to 210 as it mentioned somewhere thst was optimum. It doesn’t seem to have any effect
Do you have a spare nozzle to try? Extruder tension might be a little light try this ok it is for a V3SE but it is essentially the same hotend extruder.
There is a spare nozzle and I’m game to try anything to get it working. I’ll give it a go!
Make sure you nip it up tight, I think it is 1.8Nm of torque just to stop ooze over the top of the nozzle. Buy more spare nozzles they do wear out and are consumable items.
From bad to worse. I swapped the nozzle out as per YouTube video. Now giving error message that nozzle isn’t hot enough. To make matters worse, when I went to level it upon restart the motor forces the extrusion unit to the far right of the printer and starts making a juddering. I’m starting to think I’ve got a lemon!
Thermistor wire pinched too tight or broken?
So sorry to hear, have you tried heating and using cleaning stick to clear clogs? If nothing works don’t be afraid to contact creality’s customer support. I hope you get it to work for your daughter
Thanks all for the assistance. The printer was plagued with issues so I ended up returning the unit for an exchange. The new one worked perfectly straight out of the box so I’m putting it down to being an bad unit
Hello Khariuk1,
Glad to see you got that sorted.
Making for a good Christmas for your daughter
