I just bought a Ferret Pro scanner, and I find the 8g of RAM is not enough. My video card is also not good enough. I’m looking at buying a new computer and I am wondering if a laptop, with the right requirements, is good enough for the capturing and processing from the scanner. I guess my question is, are laptops powerfull enough for this or do I need a desk top unit?
There are laptops that are powerfull enough (Gaming Laptops)… but the question is if you are willing to pay big money for them…
For the Ferret Pro you don’t need a good GPU, enough RAM and a decent CPU of mid-range laptops that were released in the last few years should work. It’s different with the Raptor and Sermoon series.
