Have external spool set as gray Creality Hyper PETG on my K2 Plus. Cannot select the external spool “EXT” nor does the auto mapping transfer the external spool configuration in the new Creality Print 6.0.2.1574.
You can change to the external spool when sending to the printer, but it shows PLA and there is no way to change to the correct filament. The software thinks that it is PLA and there is no apparent way to change to PETG. Tried with the CFS connected and disconnected.
Had to go to the last CP 5 that I had installed to attempt the print using the external spool with PETG.
As far as I know you can print but with a different logic!
You select a filament from the list for the part to print (it uses normally 1st filament for new parts).
Then you change the type of filament like here where I set it to PETG:
Had to change CFS slot 4 to hyper PETG, slice, and then select spool holder when sending to the printer. Not really an intuitive approach by Creality.
Plus there is no notification from Creality Print that there is a mismatch in the file to be printed and the type of filament when it was sliced for PLA and PETG was the filament on the spool holder and entered into the K2 Plus.
I have the same problem with CR-TPU, which doesn’t work in CFS. But I can’t select CR-TPU and then slice it and then print from the spool.
How can I print CR-TPU via the spool holder?
Thank you for the tip.
Since I come from Germany, I had set Creality Print in German. In the German settings, all of these filament types don’t exist at all:
The printer does not seem to support external spool printing while the CFS is enabled without some significant headaches. I would love to use my CFS more if it was reliably feeding filament, but it is not, so I use the spool holder instead, but I have to disconnect the CFS from the back of the printer to get it to work at all, still
Hi, I have the same problem - I just wanted to add an additional spool via the external holder. I tried setting it up in Creality Print using the gear (settings) button in the upper right corner.
When selecting the pencil button, I chose the brand → Generic, but when trying to select the type, the menu resets to the default values, preventing any selection. This has to be done on the printer screen instead. Once set there, the brand, color, and type are correctly displayed in Creality Print.
Weird - definitely a bug that needs some tweaking!
Same issue here, it locked me out of the spool holder when I wanted to try the custom BIQU PLA HR filament and made me select PETG just to print. Talk about annoying, please update your software Creality and make a functional and user friendly GUI. This is not okay.
