CFS autofeed

Hey everyone,

My CFS started complaining suddenly. Two of the slots (3 & 4) started failing when loading new filament (or using the extrude button to test). It feeds all the way into the machine, but never hits the extruder, and a slight buzzing (grinding?) sound occurs, and machine throws a code (FR2836). I scanned the QR and went through troubleshooting steps, but nothing changed.I couldn’t retract filament so powered machine off then on and got it to extract. Now, when I try loading new filament in either slot (3, 4), I feed it into tube inside CFS, but it never ‘grabs’ it to load. I took tube off and fed a bit of filament in to make sure there was no blockage (there wasn’t). So basically there’s two problems:

  1. can’t load filament - feels like there is resistance, but it never ‘grabs’ and loads
  2. FR2836 feed issue

Slots 1 & 2 work fine. Anyone have suggestions or troubleshooting steps for loading the filament? And bonus points for the FR2836 issue?

Thanks!

Bryan

I have the same / similar issues since a few weeks and feel with you. The K2 Plus seems to be okay - it is just the CFS hub which is unreliable. I tried everything I found in the wiki and blogs like reggit. I just can’t print multi-color. Most of the time I’m getting this FR2836 error. I took the CFS hub apart, also the buffer, checked the resistance of the PTFE tubes etc.
So far nothing fixed the issue!
