Change Printer software to stop accidental printing damaging hardware

I noticed that there is now a warning to remove prints from surface before printing again. I suggest that the printer be changed so it will not print again until the OK button is manually pressed on the screen. This will stop accidently forgetting to remove the old print and damaging the printer. This could be just a checkbox in the Creality print so it does not stop automatic printing if people want that.

I have a second print plate for all my printers. As a print finishes I swap out plates, a habit from starting prints before clearing a build. A software hint could be good.

The Ender 3 V3 and K1 series if you print in the center of the bed there should be z homing errors that prevent another print

I am surprised that a 3D printer company has not made a laser scanner that sweeps the bed before a print to detect if there is an obstacle.
In these days of electronics it would be child’s play.
They could even adapt a part from the new Dyson vacuum that shows dust particles.

Oh … maybe I should patent that idea … you heard it here first folks :money_mouth_face:

Camera, AI, LIDAR, like what them there Bambi printers do?

No, what like them there vaccum’s do

I was not aware that either a camera/ Ai/ or Lidar were programmed to detect that you had left a project on the bed before starting a print and alert you to it.

Damn, there goes my first million$

They may not check that at present but it can’t be that much of a leap.
