I have been printing on the K1 Max for over a year now but just bought the K2 Plus printer without the CFS Multi Color Attachment, so I am printing with only one spool on the side of the unit.
Loading the filament was different than the K1 Max where I just pushed the filament in until it stopped and pressed Extrude (worked great). Now I am ready to change filament spools for the first time.
What is the best way to extract the filament? do I need to heat the nozzle up first or do I just press Extract? Do I need to cut the filament at the spool before extracting?
I am asking for advise so hopefully the extruder does not get a filament jam and need to take the extruder head apart.
Thanks,
Steve
Extract is enough, wil cut the fillament. Extrude a little before next print.
As @Martin_Prent said pressing the filament extraction button will heat the nozzle and cut the filament. I would encourage you to pull lightly (where filament enters PTFE tube from reel) immediately it cuts to ensure it comes away from the extruder. You will feel the extruder push it out but a helping hand will ensure a clean position for next print.
Thank You!
