Clogging/Extrusion stop when printing a big model

Hi

I have read threads about clogged K1MAX Nozzels causing extrusion to stop.
Cleaned nozzle and extrusion and everything worked fine as long as I print’
a small version of a model, about 10 by 10 cm.
I tried to print a a big version of the same model, about 25 by 25 cm and the
nozzle clogs and extrusion stops.

I tried different PLA and went back and forth between a small and a big version of the same model.
Every time when I print the big model the nozzle clogs.

I have cleaning and re-feeding PLA pat down well, but I have absolutely no clue why the nozzle clogs when I print the big version of the model but all is OK with the small version.

Again: I used different PLA, also the original Creality Hyper PLA to no avail.

Any ideas?

I’m guessing that the chamber temperature for a large print is getting too warm in the K1 Max. A small print won’t have time for the chamber to get warm but a larger print might get up to 34°C and more. When the chamber gets too warm PLA will get soft for the extruder to push and then get jammed up.

Try to open the front door and leave the top off. Maybe even have a fan blowing gently in the front depending on your room temperature.

Anyway, as an additional information:
the “small” model has an original size of 5cm by 5cm (X/Y)
The “big” model is a scaled version of the same model, I used Cura 5.11 to expand it several times to cover 25cm by 25 cm.

The Z-Axis is not of concern here.

Now: I did a quick design with OpenSCAD, sliced it with the same Cura 5.11
which also covers 25cm by 25cm to check whether the printer is physically able
to print along the outer edges of its bed.

This model was printed flawlessly, so I assume there is no physical problem with the printer,
but rather that Cura does some weird things to the expanded version of the model and
the generated data is not usable by the K1MAX.

Probably I should go to a Cura forum and do some research here

Nevertheless, if you ore someone other in this forum using Cura as a slicer and the K1MAX
give it a try, to use the STL of a quite small object (X/Y), expand it to cover 25 by 25 cm
and see whether that works OR has any idea what Cura might do to the data, which makes the k1MAX
act as described, I would be grateful.

Update:
I reduced the size of my design to 5cm and expanded it with Cura 5.11 to 25cm as I have done with originally mentioned model.
This expanded STL → GCODE was well printed and no clogging (Stop of extrusion) happend.
It must somehow be connected to the STL of the model on which the extrusion stops.
I will retry the initial model and report back. (this is weird)

Update 2:
I gave the specific model another try, but to no avail. The nozzle clogged, extrusion stopped.
I could trash the nozzle since I did not get the PLA out of the feeding tube of the nozzle.
There is no knowledge gained other than NOT to print this model.
No idea why this specific STL/GCode fails.
