Good afternoon all,
I have a Ender-3 V2 Neo and I can print just fine (as fine as a newbie can after devouring any print setup, slicer setup and print test the internet provide).
I’m trying to setup a Raspberry Pi with OctoPi to monitor and adjust settings remotely and I can’t connect any computer to my 3D printer.
I have :
- tried multiple USB Cables (including a high quality chromecast cable),
- tried multiple computer (1x raspberry pi running octopi + 2x windows 11 pro laptops),
- installed the CH340 drivers on all computers,
- tried all the USB port on all computers,
- tried to connect via Creality Slicer, Prusa Slicer, OctoPrint
and I still can’t connect to my printer. The device manager on windows don’t see anything (not even unknown devices), nor the OctoPi (ls /dev/tty* or dmesg | grep -i usb).
I did notice that if I turn the printer’s power off and leave it connected to my computer, the printer’s board has power and I can go through the menu but the motors don’t have power to move and the board freeze if I try to move the head.
What could be the issue? What am I missing?
Is my only option to replace the printer’s main board? Is there a bypass where I could connect directly to the main board?
I thank you for your support and guidance.
A.
