I am unable to connect to my new K2 Plus. On the K2 screen I tried WIFI and it shows connected but Creality Print version 6 does not recognize the printer. So I connected an ethernet cable directly to the K2 from my router. The K2 screen shows it is connected but Creality Print does not see it. I entered the IP address manually and still not visible.
I don’t know what I am doing wrong but the only way I seem to be able to print is to save to a flashdrive. Can someone give me a little help. Would be appreciated.
Sounds like you have already covered the Networking basics. The only thin I can add is I’ve noticed that the K2 network settings don’t seem to “take” until the machine is power cycled (i.e. power cycle per network setting change. There has to be a better way to do a network reset, but I haven’t found it yet.
Thanks gozman. I will give it a try, but I did that with the WIFI and it did not change anything. The K2 screen shows the IP address clearly, saying it is connected which suggests part of it must be working correctly. When I go to the computer software, like Print 6, and try to SEND, I am told no device exists. I tried to manually add the printer in Print 6 but once more, “no device exists”. I even tried using CURA and got the same results.
I thought all this was supposed to be easy to set up and use. Obviously that is not true.
Do you run a VPN? I had to turn off my VPN to connect to the printer because the VPN blocks the traffic to the local network.. I recently switched to Proton VPN just because it allows split tunneling. That fixed the problem.
Not using VPN right now. I did as you suggested and I managed to connect via WIFI to my PC. The problem is that I don’t know WHY. I tried using ethernet, connecting and disconnecting several times. Each time I had Print 6 scan with no device found, and each time I also tried to manually add the shown IP. Then I did the same with the WIFI connection, multiple times. All of a sudden, I was connected. No understanding as to why.
Thanks for taking the time to help. It took multiple times but now seems to be OK and I am printing now.
Well, back to square 1. Yesterday the connection worked fine while I printed out an item that took 3 hours. I monitored the connection via my PC, check the camera and time left frequently. No problem. Started up the printer today and NO good. Had to once again use a flashdrive. Planning to call Creality tomorrow. Really getting irritated.
I may have found a solution. Time will tell. I have another computer capable of handling graphics with no problem. I have that computer running on WIFI instead of direct ethernet. I ran an ethernet cable from the back of the computer directly to the K2 ethernet connection. This seems to work, so moved that computer next to the K2.
It will not work if I go from my modem using ethernet. Maybe that is how it is supposed to work but don’t know why. My main computer handles everything else with no problem.
Anyway, this solution works and I can use my backup computer to download, slice and modify, then send directly to the K2.
For more detailed work I will use my main desktop and then transfer files over to the backup via flashdrive or onedrive.
Seems Creality could make things a lot easier, especially for the price of their hardware. Again, thanks for commenting and giving me some help.
