CP 6 Slicer stuck at 65%

Hi. Finished building this V3+ a few days ago and tried a benchy. It wasn’t perfect but it wasn’t slow either. I mean, I’ve not seen a printer move so fast. Due to personal reasons I am not back on it til today.

Made my own model from scratch so thought I would see how it slices. It has a curved up footprint all round so the slicer wasn’t happy and wanted supports. Enabled them and it gets stuck slicing at 65%

== maybe irrelevantly, I noted my slicer was set to hyper pla - i dont remember seeing that on the benchy which I did slice before i printed. the text on the foot of benchy was unreadable. anyway ==

A quick search showed others had the problem so followed a suggestion to try orca. Sliced fine but takes 2.5 hours longer to print. So I went back to CP6 and changed auto tree to auto normal and it sliced.

Also this is my first time using this forum so I thought I would try it out with this issue.

Hello Stan,

After using version 5.1.7xx for some time, I found that it froze at 15% on a complex slice. Tried same file/same settings on another computer with the same result.
After testing it with Orca and it worked well, I tried it with Creality Print 5.1.6xxx and it sliced ok.

So now I am back to 5.1.6xx and I have no troubles.
I will NOT use version 6 as it has too many flaws.

Cheers.

Hi, the next thing it is now doing is giving a message “Download Gcode” after sending print and sitting doing nothing else. Hmm. Thanks for reply RD.

Is that with the same settings though, wall thickness and infill? I can’t say that with like for like settings it is that much different in time between Orca and CP.

Sounds like it has lost connectivity to the printer. With my V3KE it is very hit and miss to get CP6 to play nicely, mostly completely ignoring it. I know that it isn’t the WiFi connection as Orca has no problems connecting to it.
