Hi to everyone, I can’t figure out what is normal ambient temperature for cr-10 smart to work, because from first day I have so many issues with that, most of them make no sense. Found suggestions that board is bad. But I don’t think so. Because today I moved to different room and got nozzle and platform abnormal sensor readings. Whatever I put my printer in corner or on table, there will be 10C print head temperature swing and it will work when running from LAN and even with 20C ambient. But today I moved to room without active air circulation with lower temperature preference 17C and can’t get it working. Preheating goes to 211C and hotbed 47C, not reaching 220C and 60C, and popping error on screen. So I am interested is 3C difference causing it?
you need to place a new thermistor (because it is out of range reading/ it is broken)
It is a simple job to do.
machine off ( no power)
get out old thermistor.
cut through the thermistor wires, shorten the new thermistor wires at length needed and solder the new thermistor wires to the old wires.
install thermistor in hotend.
when done that it should work again.
So, I figured that out, after replacing thermistor, same issue, but after days of debugging, if I add extra layer of thermal insulator over all head assembly allowing only little of air intake, the temperature swings are gone by half. The heating process are very slow, compared of cooling stage. Maybe PSU is to blame or got DOA, but who knows. For now it’s working, if not, simply turn of and on again and that works for me now.
