Cr 10- Smart pro seems dead, can it be salvaged?

First the touchscreen died, so I decided to try a sonic pad and just get rid of the touchscreen. Flashed with klipper, and printer appeared to start up normally but Sonic pad failed to connect via USB or the serial connection. So now I don’t know if the mainboard is bad. Should I try the Klipper SBC route before giving up on the mainboard? I really don’t want to just trash this printer since I like the large build area and have built a custom enclosure for it. Any suggestions as how to remove the stock electronics and start with aftermarket replacements? Can an aftermarket board support auto auto level and filament detection? I could care less about the creality wifi box, I didn’t use it anyway.

Hmmm - this sounds somewhat like the used, non-working “for parts only” 10 Smart that I just ordered – so I was interested in your post. It’s a tad disappointing to see that there has not been ONE SINGLE REPLY here, which may tell volumes about this forum, Anyway, did you discover any worthwhile answers???

No one came up with any suggestions. My solution was to buy a Bamb Labs P2S on Black Friday and wait for the H2S to down in price for a larger format printer. So I currently have a a big pile of junk with a nice table and enclosure taking up space in my basement.

Ouch? Sorry to hear it! At this point I’m not sure what I have purchased - remains to be seen if it’s salvageable or will turn out like yours. Maybe ours would like to be together in their lonely, abandoned state? Ha!

TTYTT, I have been eyeing the Snapmaker U1 !!! :face_with_medical_mask:
