Hey Everyone, I recently bought a cr-m4 printer from a guy because he didn’t had the space for it anymore. He told me about the problem it has with printing big volumes. I printed a big print (sneakers) and after a certain amount of volume that has been printed the printer stops and u have to pull out the plug to then click on resume print. Then after a few hours it happens again and it keeps happening but always sooner and sooner. I did another print and the same thing happened after approx the same amount of volume. What should I do and is there a way to solve this?
The printer stops without a warning or anything ? I think it could be related to the heat of the motherboard ? If it starts to get too hot, it shuts down everything.
If you can, try to connect the printer to your computer like Pronterface ? And send the M105 g-code to get the temperatures once in a while to see if it increases.

Thanks how wold i do that exactly?

Use this tutorial to connect it then send the M105 g-code once in a while during printing
Thank u, I will try this. now yesterday I printed a smaller part and exactly the same thing happened after 1.5hours ,the printer did not shut completely down, it just stopped printing mid print and gave no error.
It didn’t shut completely down ? Ahh then it could be another issue than high temperatures
What slicer are you using ? It could be a specific g-code that makes the printer to crash
Have you tried to flash the firmware ? In case the current one is corrupted
Yes indeed, I am using Ultimaker from Cura as a slicer program. Do u mean resetting the configurations of the printer with flashing the firmware?
Concerning Ultimaker, I would suggest using a newer slicer like CrealityPrint which is optimized for Creality’s printers . I checked and there is a profile for the CR-4M.
If changing the slicer didn’t fix your issue and concerning the firmware, it’s a bit more than just resetting the configurations. In case the code became corrupted for X or Y reasons, it will set up everything into factory mode

Ooh okay, I will try this then, thank u!
