Creality falcon2 40W and clear acrylic and plastic sheets

I brought Falcon2 pro 40w laser cutter. I have not received it yet. I heard that I might have some problems with clear materials. I would like to know can I cut and engrave clear acrylic and cut clear plastic sheets? How about if they are painted with acrylic paints? regards Jaana

I have a 10W Snapmaker A350T laser, it is also a UV laser, I can cut black acrylic sheet of about 5mm, absolutely no chance in anything other than black, tried translucent white just doesn’t absorb the UV energy. Don’t think IR lasers work on clear either. Think you’ll be needing a CO2 laser for that, big money, Xtool P2 (£4K)

Diode laser cutters use 450nm light, which is blue light. Everything that lets blue light pass through instead of absorbing it won’t cut so easily. Engraving works if you for example by painting the acrylic first and then cleaning the paint off after engraving.
Cutting also kind of works, but not very efficiently, you can try with some blue painters tape.
