Creality HI camera severely out of focus

I just bought a brand new Creality HI - the integrated camera is awful. I initially thought it had a piece of protective film on it, but that is not the case. Are there any adjustments to get the camera focused?

Please see attached photo:

Thank you for any tips!

I had exactly the same problem with mine.

It is not protective film. There is a frosted lens cover (privacy cover) that has to be moved out of the way.

Thanks, it wasnt that - I moved it out of the way.

thats not the way the lens cover must be, it can damage your printer, the cover must NOT be outside the camera casing, you must put all the way down

Hello @linuxknight
Welcome to the Creality Forum…! Creality-Logo

Not sure if it will help but check this thread: Fuzzy Image

strange… why put a privacy cover on it…

How was @linuxknight camera issue solved ? I haven’t heard back from him.

Yeah the issue is not solved . I did completely disassemble the camera and removed the lense and cover. That actually allowed a somewhat viewable image. I probably should have reached out to creality for a replacement but in my efforts clearly voided the warranty. I ordered a new one from AliExpress .

This is in fact resolved I suppose. I was shipped a garbage camera, broke it on my own, and ordered a replacement. It was 16$

That all said, Creality should put some QC on the webcams…its currently lacking luster based on the amount of other users experiencing this problem.

Unfortunately you got a bad one. I’ve seen this happen before. I would actually contact Creality about it. I don’t think you voided any “warranty” as most of the time you have to take these things apart to figure what’s wrong with it.

Doubt you voided any warranty. Reach out to customer service. My thread was the one linked earlier. Customer service quickly got me a new camera, not that the HI camera is all that good.
I’ve since changed my camera to the Nebula, it’s better but not much better.
