Creality Hi Combo - my first contact with the world of 3d makers

At the beginning of April 2025, I bought the Creality Hi Combo printer. It’s an easy printer to set up, and it’s my first experience with such a device. Once everything was assembled, I followed the Creality videos on youtube and everything worked, or almost.

I turned on the printer and made the first settings, test alignments and everything else it does automatically. After this stage, I tried to connect to the Creality Cloud, but the “Network” menu didn’t appear on the screen, so I searched the internet to find the solution: Update the Firmware.

Firmware updated, started the printer again, this time the menu was identical to the one described in the manual, and the configuration was complete, connected to wifi and the Creality Cloud, in the mobile app I also found the printer, everything was fine.

As my first print, I selected one of the models that comes with the printer itself, via the LCD screen menu. I printed a “Block purge”, and the result was sensational. 17 minutes later, it was perfect, no burrs, no layer marks, I really liked it and got excited.

It was late at night, and the excitement of having it working was sensational. I decided to print a “poop basket” which also comes in the printer’s internal menu. As it was late at night, it started printing and it was going to take about 3 hours, so I decided to leave it printing and went to bed, which was my mistake.

I woke up about 40 minutes later, and the printer was making a noise, which is what woke me up, a fright.

Well, I’ll leave the photo for you to see, and now I’ve dismantled it and I’m looking for parts to replace it, because the extruder chip cable has also been damaged.

What filament were you using?

[/quote] I’m using Voolt3D PLA, purchased in Mercadolivre.

The cable from the circuit board in the right-hand cable has broken, I need a new board and the cable.

It appears you have suffered from heat creep. If you google “hot end heat creep” you will get an explanation of the causes. Possible reasons : temperature too high, hot end fan not working.
You will need to contact the store where you purchased the printer and ask for there assistance as you should be covered by warranty.
Sorry you had such a traumatic introduction to 3D printing hopefully things will get better for you.

You might also google “How to check if hot end fan is running on Creality Hi Combo”
Unfortunately your main concern at the moment is replacing the damaged components

This “blob of death” can also be caused by a nozzle that is not fully tightened. Perhaps the nozzle was not properly installed at the factory or it came loose in shipping. It’s always a good idea to check and make sure the nozzle, all the screws, and the belts are properly tightened on a new printer after setting it up and recheck every once and a while.
