Hi, my Creality K1C has recently started having trouble pulling filament. There’s a clicking sound (like the filament is hitting something), and this is causing holes in parts of my prints. The filament is bunching up instead of binding properly. I’ve set the recommended temperature plus 5°C. I’ll attach pictures of the filament and the print itself. The filament if important is CR-PETG
Hello, you may have a problem with the extruder feed mechanism. There may also be problems with the gears themselves. If they are damaged, they need to be replaced (there are metal gear options available on marketplaces). Damage can cause skipped steps. Check the condition of the gears. The grooves on the pressure rollers can become clogged; if clogged, clean them with a needle. Another possibility is a partial clog of the nozzle, where dust cokes with the filament, causing a blockage. You can try a “cold pull” method; you can read about it online. You can also try pushing the blockage out with a special tool or a piece of rod with a diameter of 1.5-1.8 mm. To avoid future clogs, print a filament filter housing (available on the Creality Cloud) and insert a piece of foam rubber inside. You can also use a dish sponge. Another possible problem with filament during printing is its high humidity; it needs to be dried for better printing and adhesion between layers.
Hi just to be sure its the feeder? (the thing at the back near fillament?) ill cheack! ty or do you mean teh main asembly head?
If you are printing with PLA, be sure to open the top cover (this is written in the instructions). The skipping and clicking sounds may be due to the high temperature in the chamber, causing the filament to become very soft and the extruder to be unable to push it properly into the hotend.
