When the printer has a non recoverable print error and I cancel the print, sometimes it thrashes very hard on the side of the printer. It is to the point where I am afraid it will simply break the side of the printer. Has anyone noticed the same issue?
Mine seems to hit the sides too hard when I home it. I went through a heck of a time trying to get my bed leveled and mesh probing zeroed in here recently, and did a lot of auto level and rehoming, and it seemed to smack the sides so hard I was scared it was going to damage something. I had so many different issues that I ended up factory resetting it, and it’s seemed better since. Try that if nothing else is working for you. You can select what you want to reset, so if you don’t want to lose your videos or your print files on the system, just check the box to reset the gcode files.
There is beta firmware that attempts to fix the axis motor direction bug, I’m on the beta FW, as I was having thrashing quite a lot, the beta isn’t officially released, but there are links to it on discord K2 forum…
What I found was for my K2+ if the extruder was in the back half of the device more often than not it would go the wrong way when homing and thrash, if I manually moved the extruder to the front half of the enclosure before homing, it was 80% more reliable .
The beta FW has so far reduced my thrashing against sides from every other print to maybe once a week ..
Your choice to use beta ahead of official release based on how frequent/bad the thrashing is for your machine. For me it was worth it.
