Has anyone tried the latest 6.0 software? I’ve recently seen several problem stories about both the 6.0 release and the new firmware release. Just want to see if any K1C users have successfully used either of these new releases.
RTR == ready to role/ride
It was great on my K1 but did cause an issue on my Ender 3 V3 that was fixable and a new firmware update was released for the V3
to be honest, I haven’t touched anything within terms of updates
I’ve been using Version 5 of Creality_Print for a full year. IMHO, Version 6, even after the first revision, is NOT ready for prime time. I had problems navigating the “shuffle” of menu features between 5 & 6. In my opinion, many features were moved or renamed unnecessarily in 6.
I am able to zip through Ver. 5, load, slice, and print with just a few clicks of the mouse. In 6, I spent too much time finding and using regular, normal features.
For the time being, I will leave 6 for others to Beta test.
This is just another example of "programmers in the know’ who should only make needed changes instead of fixing things that aren’t broken. Instead of just updating the tires on the car, you’ve made it into an M1A1 Abrams tank, complete with a self-aiming main gun.
While I’m ranting about Creality… Thanks for GLUING connections on the hot end to the sub-board. I totally destroyed the sub-board in the print head trying to do a simple drop-in replacement on my K1.
I’m still using either Orca 2.2.0 or CP 5.1.7.10514, I’m also waiting until they shake out the 6.0 version a bit more.
I just received my K2 5 days ago, and have had a devil of a time getting Creality Print 6.0 to work for me. First it wouldn’t start, so I eventually found out to right click on the icon and troubleshoot the installation.
I have been keeping a list of the problems (I still don’t see where I can paint supports in), and have decided that having the window lock or drop out is something I have to endure.
How can I get an older release that works? I just see the newest release (Jan. 10th). Surely there is a way to get older versions that the forum agrees is stable and works well.
Here’s a link to what I believe is the last 5.x.x release. I’m using either this or Orca 2.2.0 for my printing.
