Creality scan crashes during startup

Creality Scan crashes immediately during startup

Hi,

I’m having an issue with Creality Scan 4 where the application crashes immediately during startup.

What happens

  • The splash/startup process begins normally
  • The main window briefly appears
  • Right at the moment the UI opens, an error dialog pops up
  • The application closes immediately before I can interact with the dialog or read the full error message

System information

  • OS: Windows 11 64-bit
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT (16 GB VRAM)
  • Creality Scan version: 1.6.15
  • Scanner: CR-Scan Ferret
  • Firmware: 1.2.5

Observations from the logs

  • The scanner is detected successfully
  • GPU/OpenCL initialization appears to complete successfully
  • The crash happens shortly after entering HomeState and loading HomePanel
  • I also see repeated pipeline is invalid errors in the scan logs

Example log entries

pipeline is invalid.
property is not permission to operate.

The scanner connects correctly over USB3.0 before the crash occurs.

Attached logs

  • app.log
  • scan_log_20260526-180827.txt
  • ScannerStreamSDK.log
  • system_info.txt
  • device_info.json
  • alog.txt

Has anyone seen this before or found a fix?

Thanks!

Where have you attached the logs? I’ll try to forward it, I think the technical support usually needs either the logs or the serial number of the scanner if you uploaded the logs with a bug report in the software.

Thanks for offering to forward it.

I appreciate the help. Hopefully the direct logs give the support team enough detail to identify what’s causing the crash.

Looks like the forum didn’t actually attach the log files properly. I’ve already sent the full logs directly to Creality support at cs@creality.com.

Scanner info

  • Scanner: CR-Scan Ferret
  • Serial number: BC34C41034V
  • Firmware: 1.2.5

Relevant log entries

[ERROR] pipeline is invalid.
[ERROR] property is not permission to operate.

From what I can tell in the logs, the scanner is being detected correctly, but the app crashes not long after the main interface loads.

System specs

  • Windows 11 64-bit
  • AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
  • AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB
  • Creality Scan 1.6.15

The technical support mentioned that there are currently issues with the RX 9060 XT. They will look into the log files.

The Ferret doesn’t really need the dedicated GPU, I’m not sure how to disable it and get it only to use the iGPU that the 7600X should have, but you can’t even start it and try to manually switch the GPU used for processing to the iGPU as it crashes right away? That would have been my idea how to use it until the support for the RX 9060 XT is fixed.

Hi once again thank you for the support, here is a video with the behavior on startup of Creality scan.

I did also read about there GPU problems in other forums, but I hope this can be resolved as my personal buisness is based on scanning.

Troubleshooting CrealityScan Crashes on AMD RDNA3 GPUs

I recently ran into an issue where CrealityScan, a 3D scanning application, would crash on my new AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT graphics card. After some investigation, we determined that the root cause was a lack of full support for the latest AMD GPU architecture.

The Problem

When launching CrealityScan, the application would immediately crash, with the error pointing to issues with the amdocl64.dll file - the AMD OpenCL runtime library. This suggested the problem was related to the GPU’s OpenCL implementation.

The only solution is to get a beta release.

Issue has been temporarily resolved

I’ve managed to fix the issue by downgrading the graphics driver for my AMD Radeon RX9060 XT
Driver version: 26.5.2 → 26.3.1

I still hope this is going to be a temporary fix, so that I’m not forced to use old drivers for ever.
