Hey Creality!
I was gonna pull the trigger on the RaptorX 3D Scanner today, but then i realized Creality Scan does not support Linux.
Is there any plans to support it in the future?

Yes please I would love this as well. I have a ferret scanner and it is extremely annoying having to go from my regular computer to one that has windows.
Looking forward for Linux tooo. Becouse of that i didn’t buy yet the Scanner. I saw the new one(Sermoon S1) very cool.
Yeah it looks nice, if Linux support I’ll buy it!
Yes please make linux version, It would be great

+1 who is willing to spend a bunch of money IF there is a linux version. I don’t have any windows installation (and won’t install it just for this application) and I won’t buy a rotten apple.
+1 for me, never use windows, or mac
+1 i need it to
+1 from me as well. Don’t use Windows for 5 years now, and the Linux user base has been growing!
yup, wanted to buy one also, but no linux support, so… pass
I no longer use Windows, so I could really use a Linux version too.
+1 i didn’t use virus from microshit 20 years…
+1 For me as well, I would love this.
It runs in Lustis. Haven’t done a lot yet but everything seems to work
Nope. It looks like USB connectivity is unavailable under Lutris. I’ve already tried that.
I add my vote for a Linux version.
I managed to install CrealityScan 4 1.4.8 without issue through Wine, but indeed the USB connection to my Raptor wasn’t recognized.
I tried to use the WiFi adapter instead but it seems to use a “non-compliant” chipset (as far as the kernel goes) with an out-of-kernel driver (Comfast CF-972AX : Realtek RTL8832-CU, which shares the RTL8852-CU driver).
Using CachyOS, I installed it by applying these changes to the driver repository.
The driver may be available more easily for other distributions.
In the options phase of the installation I set up rtw_switch_usb_mode=1 to force the USB3 mode.
Then I loaded the driver with “modprobe 8852cu”, which added a new LAN adapter with which I connected to the Creality_Scan_Pocket_[ID] SSID.
However the software didn’t manage to see that connection either: maybe it’s an issue on the Wine front, but if the software is ever ported then installing the driver would still be needed by future users.
soy usuario y el no tener sofware para el scanner en mi pc linux ha supuesto un problema enorme, creo que w10 esta muerto y que w11 ya nacio muerto al final un gran numero acabara en linux como todos lo hemos echo, por favor ………… ![]()
Have you tested with proton yet from Steam? I haven’t tested yet with my otter and scan bridge. But I have mostly left Windows behind entirely especially now that I know Rayforge works great with my Falcon2 40w laser so I can finally leave Lightburn. These companies really need to get with the times and develop full cross-platform apps especially since so many of them use linux as a backbone for their hardware (like all their klipper printers.)
I have the Ferret. What works for me is to scan with my phone but don’t process it there (unless it’s a very small model and/or I don’t need to do post processing), then use the Creality desktop software (installed under Lutris) to import the model from the phone and do the processing on the desktop. The import process works fine and is easy to do between the app and the desktop using a QR code you scan with the phone app. So far it’s been fine, and no MS products needed.
