CrealityScan 4 software troubleshooting

I have a Creality Otter 3D scanner. I am having problems with the software. I have just updated the software to CrealityScan 4 (the latest) version. The software keeps freezing resulting in me having to restart my computer. As soon as I open the program again, it sends an automatic log due to the CrealityScan 4.exe not responding. Please can someone assist. I have sent numerous issue reports with logs attached to Creality but have had no response.

I don’t know if this software issue is also causing the problems I am having with the scanner where it is very difficult to scan anything. The image seems to “run” instead of staying as one clear image. I have tried adjusting the IR exposure manually but still end up with a poor scanned image. Please assist.

That’s usually because the scanner can not pick up enough detail to keep tracking where it was.
In geometry mode you need richer detailed geometry (nearby), like you can put easy to scan items next sometimes that helps. In texture mode you can add texture, like stickers in irregular patterns. Or use markers, then it has the markers for orientation.

With the error log, not sure if it has been fixed now, but if not maybe ask again in the FB group they seem to have technical support staff there. https://www.facebook.com/groups/856322968305755
