Could somebody please confirm that the CrealityScan software does not work without AVX2?

The requirements for Creality Scan is a Core i5 8th gen or higher, AVX2 is supported since the 4th gen (from 2013) and with AMD CPUs from 2015 or newer. Tbh. the CPU would probably bee too slow anyway to scan if it is older than that.

The question was: Is AVX2 mandatory for CrealityScan to work, or is it optional?

Concerning the “probably too slow”: let the customer decide. I am using a desktop with a Xeon E5-2697 V2. The CPU has no AVX2, but it still can do 20fps during the scanning. On the top of that, during the scan, the CrealityScan software is barely using 12% of the CPU and 8% of the GPU (GTX 1080), so the desktop is fine, the software sucks. There is room for 8x-10x improvement on the software side.

If Crealiy if not able to offer any kind of credible customer support, at least offer an open source version of the software, such that customers may help themselves.
