I like V5 it has a lot of good features, just wish there was a conversion for my filament files from V4. I have found it to be buggy and have had to reload it with an uninstall load as it gets corrupted files. The latest version seams to better.

While I know Creality would like everyone to buy there filaments we all know people use many different brands. It would be nice if other manufacturers can be added besides by editing the JSON file. Also would be nice to be able to copy filament files from printer to printer to have a starting point.

Need to add the additional setup files for different size nozzles. If you change the nozzle size you have to save it to a new printer and it then gives you a warning that the printer you have selected is not the same as the one you sliced with.

Great job so far, as a software developer in a previous life I know how buggy something can be,

Hi there, here is the response from the R&D Team.

  1. Compatibility of Custom Material Configurations: There is a desire for the new version to be compatible with files created in the previous 4.x versions. Currently, we are assessing the feasibility of this and will make every effort to achieve it.

  2. Compatibility with Other Brands’ Material Settings: There is a plan to support other brands’ material settings in a way similar to using JSON files. This feature, allowing a material configuration to be used across multiple printers, is planned for the 5.2 release, expected in late September. However, it may not necessarily be implemented via JSON.

  3. Custom Printer Prompts: The issue with unreasonable custom printer prompts has been fixed. You can try the new version 5.1.2 to see the improvements.

Could you please add the “Adaptive Layers” feature to V5?
EDIT: Found in in the tools section on the top at “Prepare”

I’m using Creality Print 5.1 with a (fully calibrated) generic ABS profile for my K1 printer. I have set the" Shrinkage" parameter in the filament profile to 0.94, to compensate for dimensional inaccuracies in the printed part in X and Y axis, although I DO NOT BELIEVE that the ABS is “shrinking” by that amount on the printer bed.

Furthermore, setting “Shrinkage” to 0.94 is easier than scaling every model in Creality Print by a nominal percentage, e.g. 100.6%, in the X & Y axis, before slicing.

To check the dimensional accuracy of my K1 prints, I used Fusion360 to create a 50x50x3 calibration block, and using Creality Print 5.1, I placed nine of these blocks on the Print Slicer bed, as a 3 x 3 array.

After slicing, printing and measuring, I determined the average dimensional error for the X and Y axis.

The result was -0.7% error for the X axis, and -0.6 error for the Y axis.

But there must be something else besides “shrinkage” to explain why the K1 is printing parts that end up being undersize in both the X & Y axis. I can’t figure it out :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Sorry, I meant to say that I set the Shrinkage to 99.4%.

For whatever reason, 5.1 broke the ability to print a perect cylinder. They printed much better with 5.0, and even better with Orca 2.1.1. Obviously, all of this is on my K1C printer using Hyper PLA.

Attache is a sample print left is CP 5.0.0.8636, middle is CP .4.10249 and right is Orca 2.1.1.
The printer has been updated to firmware V1.3.3.29. Obviously, to use Orca, I had to enable root, the only things I installed were Moonraker and Fluidd, the minimum I needed to get Orca working. If I’m doing something wrong, I’m all ears.

I would like to ask a way to export and import custom filament parameters.

I’m using the last stable version 5.1.4.10249 and the application crashes a lot, frequently corrupting all parameters and resetting them back to the default.

There should be a way to transfer and migrate all configurations to another PC and back everything up. And it should be keep simple, even plain text could work. We just need a way to transfer configs to and from one instance to another one. It might be integrated to the creality cloud too as another backup option, but be aware that some places restricts this kind of connections. As example, some universities and corporations have strict firewall policies that prevent using the creality cloud so a local and easy to use backup option must be implemented with the highest priority.

Thank you very much.

Hi KnightArch, I just confirmed with the R&D Team that they will update this feature in the new version next month.

@Optimus I just submitted a feature request. Hoping you can support inside the dev team!
thank you.

Please integrate this code in to Creality Print (exposing options plus on/off in the GUI) to enable adaptive mesh. I’ve used this code on all my printers (including K1 Max) and it works perfectly, and greatly decreases the time spent for each print. Code here… GitHub - kyleisah/Klipper-Adaptive-Meshing-Purging: A unique leveling solution for Klipper-enabled 3D printers!

Curious how you can respond to this request right away, yet can’t be bothered to fix an obvious issue with CP 5.1, including the most current version that I posted.

All feature requests, suggestions and bugs are seen by the dev team and will be worked on. Don’t assume just because you don’t get an answer that you are being ignored.

New version coming out next month…

In the meantime you can go back and use Creality Print 5.0 if it works better for you.

I cant wait for the next version as it unuseable with a V3SE+Sonic pad.

Hi John, we aren’t bothered by the need to fix some issues; rather, there is a planned update process for bug fixes and improvements. The software’s functionalities and interface are composed of various codes, which means that while some issues may seem obvious, they can be quite complex and time-consuming to address.

We sincerely thank all the users who are patiently waiting for the CP5 updates, and we also appreciate the feedback from those who are not satisfied with CP5. We are committed to continuously improving and providing a better experience.

Well today I tried 5.1.6 version on my V3SE+sonic pad and it printed perfectly, much to my surprise as previous versions printed really shockingly bad. I’ll run with this for a bit, next to test it with my ender 5 plus on the same sonic pad. Oh I can’t as that profile has disappeared off the menu, hmmm. Spoke too soon although the first print was good the next one has gone back to being really bad again. Unlike 4.3.8 this new version although it isn’t wildly overextruding anymore it still has a bit of layer shifting, less than before but still there. I never have layer shifting on 4.3.8, yes my belts are tensioned correctly.

With 4.3.8 I can have multiple objects on the build plate and it is quite happy to print them all. All versions of 5.x.x have consistently failed when printing more than one object, 5.1.6 is no exception it seems, manifests in an overextrusion again and a failed print.

However 5.1.6 on my V3KE it prints nicely all the time whether single or multiple objects.

Still can’t LAN print via a sonic pad via creality print, I guess it gets confused as there are 2 printers, perhaps it would need to know the port numbers of each. This is probably a sonic pad issue (it can’t even use 2 cameras) more than a creality print issue.

Been using ver 5.1.6 on all my printers, K2plus, K1C, K1max, Ender-3 V3 and Ender-3 V3plus and all the prints are coming out really nicely. The supports on the K2plus just about fall off when removing the print, perfect.

My initial print with Creality_Print-v5.1.6.10470 was much better it matched Orca in print quality.

However, for whatever reason, it still complains that my printer loads G-code only, I’d love to know what that means. It still prints, but it’s nagged me about this since the first 5.1.x.x version. I’ve asked several times what that means, but nobody seems to know. Creality_Print-v5.0.3.8744 didn’t have this error message, however, when I updated to Creality_Print-v5.1.2.9904 it started showing up, and it’s been there ever since. FYI, this is the K1C with the current CR4CU220812S11_ota_img_V1.3.3.29.img firmware.

___Only Supports Sending G-code

While you’re at it, maybe you could tell me why I get this error regularly when using the textured B-Plate. No, there isn’t even a speck of dust on the plate! Again, this showed up with the first 5.1 software version.

___Foreign Object Detected

What the Gcode message means, is that once it starts printing its in Gcode mode. Gcode is what your slicer turns your model into, its the printer language. So if you want the printer to do something you must issue gcode to it.

The foreign object error, is caused by the AI camera settings. They are set on the printer menu under the cog icon go to the camera tab and then select AI function. You can turn it off here or adjust it.

I know where the settings are. Since I’ve disabled everything but the basic AI function, what you’re saying is that feature doesn’t work and I should just forget it, that that about cover it?
