Does the USB port support tools such as Octoprint?

I have just purchased an Ender 3 v3 SE and tried connecting it up to my Octoprint setup that has worked well since I installed it on a RasperryPi 3 B+. The software reports that it cannot find an active serial connection and I can get no further.

Have seen videos on YouTube showing the SE working with Octprint but also posts saying that people are finding the same problem I have so can anyone clarify please.

From what I have read you can’t connect via the USB-C port. My Sonic Pad connects via the screen connection, perhaps that is the way that you connect to it.

You may need to get this cable.

as Bonfireman suggests.

You will need to remove the pad already there though to plug the Serial Cable in.
