DXC2 Bowden tube connector failure

I have a DXC2 extruder (which I really like after figuring out the firmware coding change and issues with cutting filament) but the Bowden connector failed. I searched and see several work-arounds for this which require printing a different cable chain riser, one with a pass-through bowden connector (great idea). But then, I got in touch with tech support from Phateus.com regarding this. I got immediate turn-around within an hour or 2, sent in a video showing the complete failure of the connector to hold the tube, and they are sending me replacements. THAT was all resolved within a few hours, I was impressed. But it is shipping from China. They even sent a video of how to remove the bowden tube connector from the DXC2 extruder, which I had attached.

I did see one post where someone talked about simply replacing the PTFE connector but left no details.

I was going to print up the cable riser bowden tube workarounds, but then I looked at the connector I had removed. I ordered this bowden push-in connector from Amazon, which looks pretty standard so far as push-in connectors go:

It has a rubber piece on the bottom, which did not tightly wedge the connector in place, and it was too tall. I removed the rubber piece, and ended up filing the metal ridge on the bottom to the points where I was able to push it in: flush fit (actually took some force inverting it on my table and pushing). It holds the PTFE tube just great (first try anyway) and looks good. And I have 49 more of them if/when this one fails :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: . Of course, I have the actual replacements coming from China as well due to very fast tech support.

I’m posting for several reasons:

  1. Phateus tech support was great and I have replacements being sent, and anyone else would likely be treated as well,

  2. Got 50 connectors from Amazon that can be altered to work like the original, and then you will be good forever with this issue, and avoid other work-arounds

I had the same problem. Ironically, I found the filament path worked better without the DXC2 PTFE connector. Leaving the PTFE tube loose in the hole has some advantages.

Thank you for sharing. I experienced the same issue. They also sent me replacements and the service was excellent.
I did this fix of Creality Cloud : (Alpha) DXC2 PTFE Coupler FIX-by FIR3 Business. I took the coupler fitting out as it caused a bit of dragging) and have found it to be very effective. Have had zero issues since completing the fix. Thanks.
