Ender 3 Neo USB connection

Hi, Just started w Ender 3 Neo

I can print successfully from TF card, I bought a USB A to micro USB data/charging cable.

When I connect it to my windows 11 computer, the touch pad lights up, but I do not find the connection on my PC.

I did load the CH341ser driver, but that did not seem to make a difference.

Any guidance appreciated.

Do you hear that USB connect sound?
On Windows, did you check the device manager? It would show as a COM port.

You don’t want to go printing with the computer connected, if the computer fails, the print fails…

You probably have the wrong cable, for charging only not for data transfer!

Cable that I bought is supposed to be data and charge. It does make the USB connect sound and it also shows up in device manager. What I would like to keno is what functionality would it provide?

Did you switch on the printer? The display will light up when connected via USB (using the power provided by the PC) but the rest of the hardware will not work…

Understood. I leave the PC on (sleep mode) so that leaves the ender display on. I was concerned about burn in. I have not seen any real advantage to having the ender connected to my PC. Did I miss something??

… why are you connecting your PC to your printer when you see no advantage in that?

If you don’t want the display to light up when connected to your PC when the printer is switched off, tape off the 5V line in the USB-connector that goes into your PC. Click the link below for some explanation how to do that!
