Ender 3 S1 Pro crashing

I have an Ender 3 S1 Pro controlled by a Creality Sonic Pad. After careful leveling and printing of several objects without issue the printer crashed upon start of printing a new object. By crash I mean that the nozzle dug into the bed and ruined the bed and nozzle when starting the print. What causes the printer and/or Sonic Pad to forget the leveling settings? Is there a way to prevent this from happening again in the future?

I had a similar issue. To correct it, I had to reset the sonic pad (i.e. shut down and turn on) and did the same with the printer. It cycled again in same way as you described but I had my finger on the stop button to stop the hot end from digging in. After a few resets, it went back to normal. Perhaps there was some bad code? Not sure but since that one episode, the problem stopped. Hope this helps.

Hi Rich. Thanks so much for your reply. I did what you said and it started to print correctly again. The thing is that every time I shut down the printer and Sonic Pad I have to reset the bed level again. I’ve done this three times now but once the printer and Sonic Pad are on and I don’t shut it off it will go on to the next print without having to reset bed level. For now, I’m going to check the bed level (manual) before each print. Thanks again for your advice.
