Ender 3 S1 strange behaviour automatically unloading filament.

Ender 3 S1. I trammed and auto leveled the bed, then printed a first layer test.

Using PLA

So cleared and cleaned the bed, Sliced a few D/L .STL files in Creality Slicer 5.1.6 and put them on the SD card pulled from the printer. When any of the files except the first layer test are printed I have issues.

The purge line is laid down well, but the printer then moves the Y axis forward, Homes the X axis, and raised Z about 1/2 and spins the extruder “pooping” a pile of filament, then reverses the extruder and unloads the filament. When the filament unloaded, the printer gave off a series of beeps, then a faster series of beeps,

I have to shut down the printer to recover each time. No errors on the control unit, after power cycle it wants to resume the print.

The GCODE runs fine in the slicer simulator, at least I think so. I reformatted the card, tried different filenames

Any clues? I’ve had several successful prints but just recently I’ve had several jobs fail in this manner.

Just giving some hints There is an option in the Ender S1’s menu to reset the printer to the default settings.
Also, you can try using a different SD card.
Update the firmware.

Thanks! Doing a reset then re-creating the settings seems to have worked!
