Ender 3 V3 KE crashing with Prusa generated Gcode

Hello,

I have a serious issue with my printer : it is constantly crashing as soon as I use Prusa generated Gcode.

Up to now I was using Cura slicer and had no issue.

Recently, I got the files to print an RC Piper Cub J3 from 3D Labprint, it is available for free.

In the package, I found ready-to-use Gcode files, probably generated with Simplify 3D, and tried them. With these files my printer was crashing very early after print started. This occurs with all the files, 3D Lab print recommends to use Prusa to slice their files and I tried that with the same result.

What is the reason for this issue and what is the solution ? Cura is not the solution as the print is very bad with a lot of defaults on my printer, based on the 3mf files supplied by 3D Labprint.

Thanks a lot for your answers.

With what profile were these sliced?
Generally OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer should work. I would assume there are default profiles for the Ender 3 V3 KE there as well.

READY-TO-USE-GCODE is only applicable if they are made for YOUR brand and type of printer. If these GCODE-files are sliced for another printer, YOU CAN’T USE THEM!

You have to tweak the slicer-setting to get good prints… “we” made it easy to provide you with printer-profiles so you have an easy start!

3D-printing is not PLUG & PLAY…

No default profile for Ender 3 V3 KE in Prusa, I build one based on a Ender 3 Pro profile and changed the relevant parameters (bed size, extrusion and retraction speed, etc.) The main difference between the two printers is the bowden extruder for Ender 3 Pro and direct drive for the V3 KE.

I know that ready to use code is not the best solution, I just followed recommendations from the supplier as a starting point, and later tweaked these files.

Even the files I produce on a different project with Prusa are crashing the printer : 2-3 first layers are fine and suddently the printers stops with error code K2000, this code is not in the Creality documentation. My Ender 3 Pro is running fine with them.

Here is the page to get the 3D Labprint files : Piper J-3 Cub – 3DLabPrint

And here is the Ender 3 V3 KE specifications : Imprimante 3D Ender-3 V3 KE - Officiel Creality

There is no mention of Prusa slicer as recommended slicing software.

As you can read on thet webste, the “ready-to-use Gcode files” are only for Prusa type of printers, not for other brands. So you have to download STL’s and slice them with the printer-profile for your printer.

OK, thanks,

It is not only the G code that is not working. When I produce à G code from Prusa with the right printer profile, It is also wrong. Any Prusa generated G code is wrong with this printer, whatever the profiles used for printer or filament.

Now I am testing the Creality recommended software, and it looks much better. My printer is now ok, I have just to learn this software, after Cura, Prusa, Orca.

Thanks again for your recommendations.

Still don’t understand why you switched from Cura to Prusaslicer… You had good results with Cura, so why change the winning team?

The reason why I changed is that 3D LabPrint recommends Prusa for their STL files.

I tried Cura, but got very bad results with LW-PLA and 3D LabPrint files. Cura was perfect with PlanePrint files (another RC aircraft STL supplier).

To summarize, Cura and Prusa are ok for my Ender 3 PRO, Prusa does not work at all with my Ender 3 V3 KE, and Cura gives bad results with my Ender 3 V3 KE for 3D LabPrint files.

Finally the best solution for Ender 3 V3 KE and 3D LabPrint files is to use Creality Print, perfect results and I can also user it with my Ender 3 PRO.

Thanks again for your time.
