My printer froze and only had a blue screen. The heating element (hot end) was making loud noises when it booted up, so I think it went bad. I ordered a new one.
While waiting I updated the firmware to see if was the problem. The firmware appeared to update successfully on the display and the printer. When I turned it on, it has gone completely hairwire. It seems to think the bed is not where it thinks it is, same with the nozzle. It is grinding the bed against the side trying to move it further than it can go, the Z nozzle leveling tool is working properly and detecting the bed, but then it jams the head into the bed and starts dragging it around.
I have no idea what to do. I’ve tried going down a version of firmware and I’m having the same problem. I can’t get the machine to recenter itself and stop pushing the nozzle too far into the bed.
