Ender 3 VE SE Linear Bearing slipped out of the plastic carrier

Hi all,

I was changing filaments, when I suddenly heard a loud noise while it was homing. I turned it off, thinking the switch for the Y-axis was suddenly defective. But, upon moving the bed, I discovered that the linear bearing on the left side of the bed slipped out of its plastic carrier (photo below).

I have no clue how did this happen or what caused it in the first place!

I was able to put it back by pushing it into the carrier using my finger. But, upon trying to print something, it seems to slip out again due to the fast speed.

What am I supposed to do now to fix it back in place?

I would suspect that the bearing has been noisy for a while.

When you slide the bearing along the rod is it smooth, or does it feel “gritty”?

The bearings are an interference fit in the bed carriers, if this is loose then you will need new carriers.

If this is the case look into linear rails they are now quite reasonable and mike a big difference to a V3 SE
