I have a 5+ that I’ve been using for a year and am still quite fresh when it comes to the technicalities of 3D printing. I’ve only printed a few “knick-knacks” over this time.
This weekend I printed/installed a Hero Me 7 cooling system with dual 5015 fans. With the dual fans, the BLTouch sticks out further which comes close to crashing into the frame (only tested with one print so far). The hero hotend mount also causes the hotend to be off the center of the bed when homed due to being shifted closer to the front of the printer.
My questions: What is the best way to prevent crashes into the frame with the wider printhead (besides changing the print size in the slicer)? Also, how can I adjust the hotend to be located back at the center of the bed when homed?
The printer has a few upgrades: Spider high-temp hotend, Hero Me 7 dual 5015 cooling system, thermister/heater cartridge, and sherpa mini extruder.
The board is stock (not silent) and I’ve got no experience dealing with the firmware, so any help is greatly appreciated.
Edit: In the future, I’d like to get a new board with linear/pressure advance and multiple z steppers for a Zero G Mercury One conversion. I’d appreciate recommendations!
