Ender 5 Max - 3 days old and already stopped working

Ender 5 max printer, 3 days old.

On the screen it shows a red dot next to the firmware number, which is V1.2.0.21.

I clicked on it and it wanted to update the firmware. It did, and rebooted. When I look again at the firmware page, it shows the same version number, still with a red dot. But if I click on it, it says “Currently the latest version”.

When I try to print from my computer, the screen on the printer says: “key:2001 An unknown error occurred during printing”. It gives me the option to reboot the printer, which just results in the same things happening again. Or I can click the button to report the fault, which asks to bind to the creality cloud, which brings up a QR code that is nothing but numbers, not a web address.

After power cycling the machine, when I try to print from my computer, I get a key:2069 error now. I cannot print anything.

3 days and this thing has already broken itself.

How did you resolve this?

New owner, too. I’m now seeing the same error … and based on experience from this forum (no replies here), their dial-up support (sent me to email), and from cs@creality.com (no response) : I expect no help, whatsoever.

Now suspecting I’ll need to use my CC scam purchase feature and demand a chargeback before my 60 day limit expires.

Sadly the E5M is a mish mash of old Creality tech. Literally the took parts from the CR-10 and the K-1 and totally slammed the two together. You cannot even buy the same parts and replace them. You have to get their much more expensive versions that take forever to get. For example the extruder motor, you cannot just buy it from them, you have to do a ticket and they go somewhere to get this weak motor and you have to wait at least 3 months to receive it. The E5M is a perfect example of how Creality has no interest in being honest or forth right. As soon as it is fixed, on Marketplace it goes. DO NOT BUY the Ender 5 max.
