Hello everyone. Please I need your help.
I’m upgrading my ender 5-s1 to run on linear rails. I’ve edited a new cfg file accordingly but failed to load it on my Sonic pad I I was previously using as I chose the preloaded ender 5-s1 without limit switch. I see the the possibility of adding a new printer in the Sonic pad. Should I proceed this way?
Kind regards
Have you added a limit switch along with the linear rails? I don’t think the sonic pad is bothered if you are running rubber wheels or rails, certainly isn’t with my V3SE on rails. I would at least try the preloaded profile though it will probably try to load a new firmware.
My initial message was referring to the “no z-limit switch”. In fact choosing a preloaded printer prevents the Sonic pad to detect the cfg file in the USB root. I just wanted to know if it wise to go with the user defined printer model
Problem solved. I gained insight with the tip to create a hotspot with my smart phone. I was then able to access the Sonic pad via my laptop using its IP address. The printer cfg file was modified according to the linear rails upgrade as suggested. Many thanks to the large community
