Ender Recent Poor Print Quality

Hi All,
I am relatively new to the world of 3D printing - I got my Ender -3 V3 in June this year and have been happily printing various parts without any issues…until now. I have tried printing some components this week and have been getting consistantly poor results, it seems like the layers of the models aren’t sticking together. I have attached a printer of the sample boat that comes with the printer, up unti now it would have printed beautifully but as you can see it is now pretty terrible. As far as I’m aware no settings have been changed, so I wondered whether anybody here has any ideas what might be causing this?
Thanks in advance.

Nozzle Temp = 220 degrees, bed Temp = 60 degrees

Looks like a Z offset issue. To try fix it do:

  • Bed Level
  • After Bed level print a Level Tester for your printer you can search any model you lilke for your setup, for example here. During the Bed level check the Z offset and adjust it to be tight enough to have a good layer.

  • Also dry your filament.

If it just started to happen for no reason, i have had this happen before, it could be some bad gcode sitting in your printer. If you use the printer menu and reset to default option, and do the calibration tests before using it, it may fix your problem. Also make sure you have the right filament selected in your slicer.

Another thing to check and I’ve made this mistake myself is the filament.

Is it PLA or PETG.?

I had two rolls of black and my settings were for PLA and stuck in a roll of Black PETG without double checking…OoPs… :slightly_frowning_face:
