EXTRUDER KIT UPPER JOINT OUT OF ITS HOUSING

After some students used the printer (Creality Ender 3 V3) for a project, I found out the next day that the extruder upper joint (the one that looks like a pneumatic quick connect push air fitting) was out of its housing (pictures attached, the first one is the fitting and a black ring that goes below it, the second shows the fitting sitting on its housing but not completeley secured).

I though it was threaded but upon further inspection realised that it was ribbed, tried to push it back into its place and it went in a bit but didn’t want to use full force fearing damage on the extruder kit.

Has anyone had this problem before? Do I need to push really hard until it’s completeley seated? How is it usually put into place?

Any help would be appreciated.

Its should be fine, if you press ptfe into and does not comes loose its should be okay.

The thing is the fitting is still pretty much loose, in the second picture is only put in its place superficially, it’s not completelly tucked into the hole. It comes off easily when trying to put a new filament, or even during the rapid movements while printing.

And while it is true that the fitting at least would be attached to the ptfe tubing, that small black ring would not and it could fall off.

I’m gonna try to take the extruder apart and press fit but don’t want to damage it using too much force, if there’s another way around that’d be helpful.
