Extruder Malfunction

Hello, recently my K1-Max does this with the filament in the extruder:

How do I fix it? I think the filament is the problem but sometimes it works fine with it, one try later it doesn’t.

Thanks in advance

Chamber temp is getting to the extruder drive gears and it is just enough to make the filament soft and jam up.

If PLA ensure the top and front door is open.

If temp is causing the issue, can you turn down the temperature a bit and try again?

Welcome to the Creality Forum…! Creality

Assuming you are using PLA make sure the printer cover is off like @Report_Processing said.

Watch what the chamber temp is on the printer screen especially if the room you are in is warm.

Thank you very much for your replies. Opening the doors and putting the back fan on 100% fixed the problem. I’m printing ASA btw.

If you are printing in ASA make sure you have good ventilation…

I print ASA on my two K1s with the doors closed, the top closed, and the rear fan set for 70C, and bed set for 100C. The chamber gets typically to 45C while printing, and there are no issues like yours.

Cyclops mods, removable tension arm (for easy cleaning), rearrange bearing install location to improve drive gear alinement, added installing auto locking PTFE holder, and filament runout microswitch at extruder input. All beta mods but I have been using them on my two K1s with no issues for over three months.
