Extruder Stops on right side of bed - with video

I have had two Ender 3 S1 Pro’s for two years now. One of my S1 Pro’s has consistantly had issues with printing model’s that reach the right side of the print bed. As long as I keep models a few inches away from the right side of the bed, all prints come out flawless.

Both of the printers are running Klipper now. The issue I am having has been relivent with Marlin and now Klipper.

I have checked all the wiring to make sure nothing is loose or pulling from the hot end. The bed is level. Z is set. Extruder is not clogged. Slicing with Cura from different computers produces same issue (not sure if its worth using different slicer to see results).

The print will start, and the extruder will put down a perfect first layer until it gets to that “right side” of the print bed and the extruder starts to “studder”. During the “studder” no filament will extrude. When the extruder gets out of this troubled area, it will print/extrude fine again.

Thank you for reading this post. I have searched online and ender forums and have not found this exact issue and what the issue might be.

If the video is not working for anyone I can share it differently. Thanks again.

Interesting, I do not have any for sure answer. I have worked on countless devices that travel like a 3d printer and connect electrically via a traveling cable. Usually it is a break in a wire, when it flexes just right, sometimes intermittent. I have an Ender 3 S1 and watching it work, I have wondered if a cable ever goes bad. Could be the cable pull on a connector. I do not know what happens when the filament is “locked up” and the extruded can not pull it, Good Luck.

I have the replacemnt cables in hand now. I will replace the cables today and report back if it was the issue. It seems like it must be a wire issue.

Thanks for the reply.

Update: The printer is fixed, and printing normally accross the whole print bed now. The main ribbon cable from the board to the extruder had a break. After replacing that cable, the printer is fixed.

Hello parr03,

Good to hear, well done.

Happy printing :grinning:
