I have a consistent error every time I start a print - I get “F00528 printer seems to be printing without extruding” error and the print pauses. There’s nothing apparently wrong with the extrusion (it happens with both the CFS and manually fed filament) so I simply click “resume” and the printer carries on. However it usually leaves a “scar” on the print, where the resume point is not the same as the pause point - there’s a gap. I’m fed up with having to baby-sit the print for the first few minutes, until the error occours and I have to press “resume”. After which, the print continues for the duration with no further similar errors. What the heck is going on???
Some possibilities:
- Filament inconsistent diameter jamming somehow
- Wet filament
- Nozzle not staying hot enough (thermistor or heater or extruder main board problem)
- Extruder not gripping the filament adequately (gummed up wheels)
- Problem with extruder motor
- Software bug
- Loose wire somewhere in the extruder
