Falcon 2 40w pro first use

Just set up the laser, missing the tube from air pump to laser but can probably find one locally.
Is there supposed to be more bottom slats than just the 25 that were in the box?
Trying to get Lightburn to recognize the laser but that’s not working.
Manual device connection asks so many question that it’s going to take an hour to find the info.
Yeah I’ve watched video after video but isn’t there one that completely covers start up?
Not too sure about dragging my laptop up & down stairs and hooking everything up at each end.
I hope I can design upstairs and then move the laptop downstairs to engrave.
I have background in sandblast engraving and using computer to design masking - sometimes
down to the pixel level on a wacom tablet so have some experience with that.
sorry for the ‘rant’ There is tons of info available but hard to search for all of it.

Have you checked the whole box again, is the tube really not included?
If not write support@crealityfalcon.com but it is rare that things like that are missing.

25 of the slats sounds right and they should be sufficient for the work area, unless you want to lay them flat.

Get the .lbdev file (probably on the SD card or also available from the Falcon FB group) for Lightburn. When you plug the laser in it should show as a COM port in the device manager or the equivalent of the OS you’re using.

There is a video playlist:

After that, most things depend on if you use Falcon Design Space or Lightburn, for Lightburn check for Lightburn tutorials for the Falcon 2 Pro.

You can either move the laptop downstairs or engrave from the microSD card or even keep the laptop downstairs and control it with VNC or similar network options.

I don’t have the Falcon 2 40W Pro. I am using the Falcon Pro 10 W. I believed the setup should be pretty similar.

You are using Windows operation system. First install the driver for the engraver on your computer first before connecting the usb cable. Also you might need to try out different usb port / com port to get it the connection to pair up.

For the tube for the air assist unit you can use the same type of tuning for the aquium air pump.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was able to find the TF card and open it on my MacBook and find the lbdev file and lightburn recognized it and I was able to play around with it this evening.
I’l try to find the aquarium tubing tomorrow.

Your lightburn license will allow you to install on up the three machines. The license management tool is directly on their front page. I have a copy running on my PC up in my office where I do all my heavy design work. Then I have an old Windows laptop out my garage connected to my falcon 40 W. On that laptop I have one of the directories shared on my network. That way I can do all the heavy lifting on my machine up in my office and then just save it to that shared directory on my laptop downstairs. Then I go down there and do all my burn work from my laptop. I don’t believe Lightroom is very resource have you so you can pick up a basic old Windows laptop for maybe 100 to 200 or even an old MacBook off of eBay.
