Hello Creality Team and Community,
I’m using a Falcon 2 Pro 40W laser engraver and I’m trying to update the firmware using the official file from Creality Cloud:
Firmware file: CV40-Pro-MASTER-Release_V1_0_38_202508121842.tar.gz
Source: Creality Laser Engraving Machine Firmware Download | Creality Firmwares
I extracted the laser.bin file and placed it in the root directory of the original SD card that came with the machine. The card is formatted to FAT32, and only the laser.bin file is present.
I inserted the SD card while the machine was powered off, then turned it on. Unfortunately, the machine does not respond — no LED flashing, no restart, and no indication that the firmware update has started.
I’ve verified the file name, format, and card capacity (32GB), and followed all recommended steps.
Device Serial Number: 50000022246222ESCDTN
Could you please confirm whether this firmware is compatible with my device, or if there’s a specific update method or intermediate version required before applying this one?
Thank you in advance for your support!

I have a similar issue with my Falcon2 40W. What I notice in your case is that you said you have the Falcon2 Pro, but the Firmware you’ve tried to install is for the A1-Pro.
Further down the page you’ve linked to you’ll find the Creality Falcon2_CV50-Pro_40W_V1_0_1.zip.
Inside that zip you’ll find CV50-LASER-40W-Release_3_0_5.bin. I point this out because all the laser updates I’ve found for the 40W or 40W pro are the same name and size at 629KB, and the one you used is different in both ways.
In my case, when I insert a 8GB microSD isn the USB adapter, formatted FAT32 and restart the machine, the LEDs cycle as per the instructions, but never stop. The same happens with an empty USB drive.
I wonder if your laser will accept the Falcon2 Pro file, or if you’ve otherwise succeeded. If so, what did you find?
My Falcon2 accepted the 3_0_5 master with no issue. Has anyone successfully applied the 3_0_5 Laser FW? Mine is at 3_0_2.
For what it’s worth, ChatGPT suggests that endless cycling LEDS is a rejection of the .bin file. It also suggested that 3_0_5 might be incompatible with some hardware revs with a different controller.
