Falcon 2 Pro broken camera help

CAMERA ISSUE HELP?

I’ve been running my Falcon 2 Pro 22W for almost a year (purchased January 31, 2025) without issues, and suddenly the camera won’t register any more. I’ve updated drivers, uninstalled/re-installed the software, and tried different USB cables.

When I check my USB devices the port it’s plugged into registers but gives this message:

‘Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
A request for the USB device descriptor failed.’

I’ve tried all the ports, and the message for the camera is always the same which leads me to believe that it’s broken.

I’ve written to Creality customer support but they’ve been non-responsive. Does anyone here know how to replace the camera module and/or where to purchase a replacement? Or would using a 3rd party USB camera mounted in that position work (since the camera plugs into the computer via USB and not through the laser itself.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It’s basically a USB webcam, I guess there is some kind of physical connection issue with the USB-C socket or the small adapter board, as these camera modules rarely break. Does the USB socket on the Falcon 2 look fine when inspecting it with a flashlight?

If you have a multimeter and a USB breakout board or an old cable USB-C cable that you can cut apart, you could check if all four relevant USB lines (Vbus, Gnd, D+ and D-) make connection up onto the camera board.
