Falcon A1 Pro, disconnecting mid project 😫

I have had my Falcon A1 Pro for a few weeks and completed a few burn tests and made a few basic boxes to practice using Falcon & Lightburn software. However, when I start a burn/cut now the machine stops mid project after 5, 10, 20 minutes for no apparent reason and then will not respond to any commands, the only thing I can do is turn it off and attempt to start again……..when the same things happens!! I am using the USB cable that came with the machine with a USB A to C adapter connected to my Mac Book which I use connected to power. As others have said on these posts, I am not getting any help from Creality at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Kind Regards, Mark H.:+1:t3:

Do you have a high quality USB-C to USB-C cable that doesn’t need the adapter? Usually that’s cable related. The more contact points need to work reliably the higher the risk that it intermittently disconnects. I’m not sure with Mac but also check if there are some USB power saving options in the OS, these also can cause issues.

Thanks again Sebastian. I have now ordered an Anker C to C lead. I have seen that you can attach ferrite chokes (?) to the lead, do you know if these will help? Thanks again for your help :+1:

Besides the new usb cable. Try to keep it under 15ft long for the usb cable. Sometime with the long usb cable it act up weird.

You can also try connect on different usb port. I found when I plug into the usb 2 port instead of the usb3 on my laptop with better and more solid connection on my Falcon Pro 10W.

The USB 2.0 data connection is usually robust enough that the signal integrity on 1-2m cables is not the issue, most of the times it’s a mechanical disconnect where a pin doesn’t make contact for a very short time. If the noise coming from the laser’s motors and power supply etc. would confuse the USB controller on the PC side ferrites could help, but I wouldn’t assume that it’s that bad to cause issues for the differential signal of the USB data lines.

…also, make sure there isn’t any interference along the cable or near the laser. Somethig like an AC brick (adapter from a laptop) or somethig similar.
I had this issue with my old 3D printer - it may be applicable here as well.
