I have recently purchased the Falcon A1 Pro with optional 2W IR laser head. The machine had the 20W head installed upon receipt of the machine, it is working fine with that laser, I wanted to try out the 2W IR, removed the 20W easily with the lever and popping off the cable assembly, when trying to fit the 2W module the lever does not push down to lock the laser module in place, any others experiencing the same issue or any advice on how I can overcome this. The module is definitely located on the rails correctly, without locking it in place and connecting the cable it fires up but is obviously loose/ rocks
I experience something similar when installing the 2W infrared laser for the A1 Pro.
At first I thought the lever wouldn’t go into the seated (lowered) position. After ensuring the 2W laser was properly inserted in the rails (as you have done) and was at the lowest point on the mounting, I was able to press the lever down with notably more pressure than is required for the 20W laser head.
There is a knack to it, though now I’m proficient at swapping between the two laser modules I barely notice it. Thought it was just mine being a bit off with the securing lever, but it sounds like it’s more widespread.
Thank you and it is very interesting, the 2W is most definitely at its lowest point but with quite some force it still does not latch, the mechanical profile between the 20W and 2W are noticeably different
Update, Creality have confirmed they sent the wrong 2W laser out for my A1 Pro and will send a new replacement
I have the exact same problem. But another issue I have is that I cant get the damn thing to engrave anything at all! I am new to laser engraving but I am Tech smart and im pretty sure I got everything dialled in correctly but it will not leave a mark on anything I try, stainless steel, 9ct Gold.
Did you manage to engrave with the 2w IR you had? And did they mention in what way it was the wrong laser?
