QR code on screen never refreshes and never appears
Always says wifi is connected but the Design Space software cannot find device.
Suspect calibration does not work
Losing patience, going to pack it up and send it back

So you want to use it via the Falcon Design Space app, you scan it with your phone and then?
They show it with another laser here but it should work with the A1 Pro like that as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zCqw6VpShs
Firmware updates and doing a factory reset also don’t help?
The USB disconnection issue usually comes from the cable, if you have a high quality brand name USB-C cable try that one and see if it works. If you’re using it with a USB hub, try without that and plug it directly in a USB socket of the PC.
They are currently on a holiday (labor day) and will come back to work on the 5th of May. I think it’s the third largest holiday after Chinese New Year and National Day there.
So it gets an IP? Do you see it in the router?
Does Lightburn maybe still claim the device? Restart the PC, make sure no program still accesses the A1 Pro. Then open LightBurn, connect, if it connects, disconnect again and close Lightburn completely. If you open Falcon Design Space now it should work. Unless there’s some snakeoil antivirus software interfering.
I can try to get attention to your issue again.
No, I sent the link to this thread to someone from the Falcon team earlier today, as you seem to be dissatisfied with their customer service so far.
It just makes no sense that the Falcon works with Lightburn, but not with FDS, my guess would be that the USB device is still claimed, but you would have to check with Process Explorer from Sysinternals, for example, to trace it down. The Falcon shows as a COM port to the host device, there’s no real reason why FDS should not be able to access it when Lightburn can, other than external factors (claimed by another application, some anti virus software or security setting blocking it).
Regarding the auto focus, I guess they already sent you the auto focus calibration tutorial video? (not the camera alignment calibration) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3lropzmhTE
As you didn’t include the error numbers it’s kind of a guesswork what might be wrong, of course one would start with the most common issues.
I don’t have an iPhone so I can’t test if it works with an iPhone AP, you have to make sure that it doesn’t have something like client isolation, can you ping it from the PC? If you have a simple old 2.4GHz Wifi router it would probably best to check if it works with that, if it does it’s some kind of setting of the iPhone.
I just sent someone I know who works there a FB message yesterday. But it was around 11am here (5pm in China) so one hour before they leave for the weekend, so I would assume you don’t get an answer before Monday.
Have you tried a serial terminal, like PuTTY? Does that work? 115200 Baud, 8N1, no flow control.
Have you tried older versions of FDS? 1.8.1 seemed to have fewer issues with code signing of the application. Especially if it would open via Putty as well, something has to block FDS from accessing it.
The problem is it works for most users with the same kind of setup. And if there is a COM port showing, it can’t really be a hardware related problem. I have the Falcon A1 Pro too, no issues.
And which code does the auto leveling fault have now? It should show it on the display. If you don’t want to mention it one can just keep guessing.
Latest via USB. Easy to guess I would have done that. I’ve lost interest in this discussion and deleted my comments.
