The K1C control panel provides a way to Extrude filament, but I often fall into the following trap when I use Extrude while loading new filament into the print head:
After I start an Extrude I will realize I forgot to alter the extruder temperature to match the new material. For instance, say I had PLA in there before, and did a Retract, then removed the spool. Then I load in, say, PETG and start an Extract to push out the remaining PLA and load the PETG. But, OOPS, I forgot to change the temperature from 210°C to 250°C – BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO STOP IT! …other than turning the printer off!
What would be great would be a way to Pause the Extrude so I can alter the temperature. Or, at least, a way to Cancel it.
EVEN BETTER: Make setting the temperature part of the Extrude process, so I’m reminded to do this.
ULTIMATELY: Add, to the Extrude menu, a way to enter a start temperature and a final temperature. Or, create a separate process dedicated solely to changing filaments. In fact, you could make use of the nice RGB LCD display and provide a step-by-step illustrated guide for doing a filament swap (but make it optional, so once the User gets the hang of it, they can opt for a more stream-lined process).
