Filament stuck inside CFS Buffer – no unload, no extruder movement (Hi Combo)

Hello everyone,

I’m having an issue with my Creality Hi Combo (CFS) and I’m currently stuck.

A piece of filament is jammed inside the CFS buffer.
At this point:

The extruder does not pull the filament

The printer cannot unload or retract the filament

The filament is physically stuck inside the buffer, not in the hotend

During unload, the spool sometimes jumps or doesn’t rotate properly

Cutting the filament from outside does not help

The filament is not reaching the extruder anymore, and it’s also not retracting back into the CFS. It seems completely stuck inside the buffer mechanism.

Before opening or disassembling the buffer, I wanted to ask:

Is there any way to release or push the filament without opening the CFS buffer?

Has anyone experienced the same issue on Hi Combo?

Is this a known problem with the buffer or hub outlet sensor?

Thank you in advance.

No there is not. Use a very small flat head and pop open the buffer and clear it out.

The fact that the spool is jumping indicates a problem. The CFS is designed for spools diameter of 197-202 mm and a width/thickness of 42-68 mm. It is designed primarily for standard 1.75mm filament spools, including Creality cardboard spools. Smaller spools may require printed adapters to function properly.

If filament snaps easily instead of bending it indicates moisture and needs to be dried in a filament drier.
