Files not showing on SD card

Hi All
I’m new to this 3D printing thing, I’ve downloaded some free .stl and when I put them on the sc card they don’t show up, some I converted from .obj and .3mf whether I needed to or not I haven’t figured out yet.
So am I missing something? is there a file size limit etc

Thanks

If you mean the printer does not see the *.stl files, it won’t. It needs to see gcode files.

Yes, I did, but I managed to work it out. But thank you anyway, I was going to update it but you beat me to it.

Thanks

i have the same issue - the details are; I have a new Ender 3 V3 SE printer. I have been through all the set up and have printed 2 parts a week or two ago. I designed a new part today in tinkercad and then sliced it in creality slicer 6.0. i exported the gcode to the same SD card i used for the other 2 parts - the issue is that when i insert the SD card and power the printer up, there are no files at all being recognized by the printer. i have tried multiple different SD cards both the micro w/ adapter and also full size sd card. unfortuneately i only have 32 gb as the smallest capacity. i have assured all the cards have been formatted to FAT32 and im saving the gcode in each card’s root directory . i am at a loss and fear i may be overlooking something simple - yet i am getting nowhere… please advise

Hi! did you solve this problem? i´m in the same issue

Hello,

The V3 SE will have not work with an SD card greater than 8GB and apart from this, it likes to EAT SD cards from time to time.
If you can purchase a known brand such as Sandisk in 8GB, you should be good to go.

Many, myself included, have purchased and connected the Sonic pad to get away from using a dodgy SD card slot and sending .stl files over wifi.

If you need an SD card for firmware updates and such, a 1GB SD card is more than plenty.

Cheers.
